This guide is intended for law enforcement agencies, government bodies, and legal representatives who need to submit formal legal requests to MeetNew. It explains what data MeetNew retains, how to submit requests, what legal process is required, and how we handle emergency situations.
1. About MeetNew
MeetNew is a random video chat platform operated by an independent developer, distributed exclusively through Google Play. MeetNew is an 18+ platform that uses anonymous guest accounts. The app does not require users to provide a verified name, email address, or government-issued identification.
MeetNew uses Google Firebase for backend infrastructure. User-generated content (video and audio streams) is not recorded or stored — all calls are peer-to-peer and ephemeral. Data retained is limited as described in Section 3 below.
2. Scope of This Guide
This guide covers:
- Law enforcement data requests (account information, usage data)
- Emergency disclosure requests
- Preservation requests
- Child safety and CSAM reports
- Account removal or content takedown requests
This guide does not apply to general user support requests or GDPR/CCPA user rights requests. For those, see our Privacy Policy.
3. Data MeetNew Retains
MeetNew collects and retains the following limited data that may be relevant to law enforcement requests:
| Data Type | Details | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase User ID | Anonymous UID assigned by Firebase Authentication — no email or name attached | Until account deletion |
| Google Advertising ID (GAID) | Non-VIP users only — collected via ad network for ad personalisation | Retained by ad network; not by MeetNew |
| Approximate Location | Country-level only, derived from IP address for regional compliance | Session-level; not stored long-term |
| App Usage Logs | Firebase Analytics: session counts, feature usage, crash reports | Up to 14 months (Firebase default) |
| In-App Reports | Reports submitted by users about other users, including any attached screenshots | Up to 90 days |
| VIP Subscription Records | Google Play Order ID, subscription status — held by Google Play, not MeetNew | N/A — held by Google |
MeetNew does NOT retain: real names, email addresses, phone numbers, government ID, precise location, message content, or video/audio recordings. All video calls are live and ephemeral. No call content is ever recorded or stored by MeetNew.
4. How to Submit a Legal Request
All formal legal requests must be submitted via email:
Subject line: Law Enforcement Request — [Request Type] — [Case/Reference Number]
Required Information in Every Request
- Name and jurisdiction of the requesting agency
- Name and contact details of the responsible officer or attorney
- Case or investigation reference number
- Legal authority for the request (statute, court order, treaty, etc.)
- Specific data requested and the relevant time period
- Any applicable account identifiers (Firebase UID, device ID if known)
- Return address for the response
Requests that do not include all required information may be delayed or returned for completion. MeetNew responds to all valid requests in the language used by the requesting authority where possible.
5. Types of Legal Process Accepted
Standard Data Requests
MeetNew requires a valid court order, subpoena, or equivalent compulsory legal process before disclosing user data to law enforcement. Voluntary disclosures are made only in emergency situations — see Section 6.
Preservation Requests
Law enforcement may request that MeetNew preserve specific account data for up to 90 days while formal legal process is obtained. Preservation requests must:
- Identify the account to be preserved (Firebase UID or other identifier)
- State the law under which preservation is requested
- Be submitted in writing to meetanyapp@gmail.com
MeetNew will acknowledge receipt within 5 business days. No user data is deleted during an active preservation period. Preservation requests may be renewed once.
Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT)
Requests from international law enforcement must be routed through the applicable Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) process between the requesting country and the country of the applicable data controller.
6. Emergency Disclosures
MeetNew may voluntarily disclose user data to law enforcement without legal process when we have a good-faith belief that an emergency involving a risk of death or serious physical injury to a person requires immediate action.
To submit an emergency request:
- Email meetanyapp@gmail.com
- Use subject line: EMERGENCY — IMMINENT RISK — [Agency Name]
- Include a brief factual summary of the emergency, the specific data requested, and your direct contact information.
- Emergency requests are reviewed as soon as practicable. We cannot guarantee response times for emergency requests.
Emergency disclosures are logged. The affected user's account may be flagged for review after the immediate emergency is resolved, unless prohibited by court order.
7. Child Safety — CSAM and CSAE Reports
MeetNew has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
Mandatory reporting: When MeetNew becomes aware of apparent CSAM, we are required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A to report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline at cybertipline.org. We do this regardless of whether a law enforcement request has been submitted.
Law enforcement agencies investigating CSAM or CSAE on MeetNew should:
- Submit a formal request to meetanyapp@gmail.com — Subject: CHILD SAFETY — LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUEST
- Reference any applicable NCMEC CyberTipline report number
- Include legal process authorising disclosure
MeetNew treats CSAM and CSAE requests as the highest priority and cooperates fully with law enforcement in all related investigations.
8. Account Removal and Content Takedown
Law enforcement may request that MeetNew remove an account or restrict a user from the platform. Such requests require:
- A court order, injunction, or other binding legal authority
- Identification of the account (Firebase UID where possible)
MeetNew reserves the right to act immediately — without legal process — to remove accounts or content when we determine that immediate action is necessary to protect user safety or prevent ongoing harm.
9. User Notice Policy
MeetNew's standard practice is to notify users when their data is requested by law enforcement, unless:
- We are prohibited from doing so by court order or law
- The notice would create a risk of harm to the investigation or to a person
- The request relates to an emergency situation under Section 6
- The request relates to CSAM or CSAE under Section 7
In practice, because MeetNew does not collect email addresses, direct notification to the user is often not possible.
10. Response Times
MeetNew aims to respond to law enforcement requests as follows:
- Standard requests: within 10 business days of receiving a complete, valid request
- Preservation requests: acknowledgement within 5 business days
- Emergency requests: as soon as practicable — no guaranteed time
- CSAM/CSAE requests: highest priority — we aim to respond within 2 business days
Response times may be longer for requests requiring clarification or additional legal process. MeetNew is operated by a small independent developer and does not have 24/7 on-call legal staff.
